In 1995, as a 20 year old student at Cornell, he cofounded a social media company called TheGlobe.com, based in New York City. TheGlobe.com allowed users to engage with one another through chat and games, while also being able to publish their own web pages. On its first day going public, shares flew from $9 to $97! But, in 2 years, the stock would only be worth $2.
